Bernardaud styled dinner at Onishi Gallery

There are hundreds of things to do in NYC this summer! A few weeks ago, I had a pleasure of photographing a styled dinner event held at Onishi Gallery in Chelsea. Over the years, the gallery has featured contemporary Japanese artists who work in a range of media, including ceramics, glass, metalwork, and calligraphy. Many Onishi Gallery artists are represented today in the permanent collections of major museums.

Onishi Garrely is also open to hosting intimate events, such as food and wine tastings and various art showcases. The event that I was a part of, featured dinner and salad plates from Jeff Koons’ Banality Series by Bernardaud.

Besides his peculiar Monument to the King Of Pop, Jeff Koons decided to go even further by incorporating Michael Jackson and his monkey pet Bubbles into his signature tableware collection.

The floral design was Art de Fête ‘s collaboration with the talented Blooming Bears.

Princeton Club of New York – Zeta Psi Founders Day – New York 2012-2014

On May 31st, 2014 I photographed The Third Annual NYC Zeta Psi Founder’s Day Banquet in celebration of Zeta Psi’s Founding 167years ago. Hosted by Zeta Psi NYC Regional Alumni Wine Club (RAWC), the event was held at the prestigious Columbia University Club of New York (in residence of the Princeton Club of New York).

This is my third year photographing this event and it has been wonderful watching it grow. Events like this are always full of great interactions and I always do my best to capture at least a few great photo journalistic shots.

Photo above: due to a very limited space, I had to utilize my fish-eye lens to fit all 120 people into the photo!

I always take a lot of traditional shots, “table shots”, photos of details, and a few photo journalistic photos to fully preserve memories of an event.

Photo below is from the Founders Day celebration 2013. The two brothers are looking at printed photos from the 2012 event and sharing their memories. My mission is accomplished.

Special thank you to Stephen Halperin for putting together such a fantastic event and for making me a part of the celebration.

This year Kiva, a world-wide micro loan organization, hosted their 3rd annual wine tasting event at Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit near Union Square. Tatiana Valerie provided an extensive photo coverage for the event.

Kiva is an organization that connects lenders with entrepreneurs in developing countries.  Lenders give loans, as little as $25, which can help entrepreneurs with much needed capital to start (or expand) their business. Kiva New York team is a volunteer group of lenders.  Every year, they host multiple events to raise money for their team fund.  The third annual wine tasting event was held on February 4th in New York City. While the events are held offline, much of the marketing work happens online – announcing the event, selling tickets, spreading word about the event etc.
